ContractorTools collects information from you when you create an account. The only information we collect is your name and email address.
In addition to the purposes described in this Policy, we use the information that we gather from or about you to, among other things, (i) operate, maintain and provide to you all of the features of the Server, App and Services, (ii) provide the basic functionality of the Server and App, (iii) improve the features and functionality of the Server, App and Services, (iv) communicate with you about any questions or requests you submit to ContractorTools, (v) provide you with information and notices related to the Server, App and Services.
In some instances, we may be obligated by law to share certain of your information with legal authorities. In addition, on occasion, we may share personal information with third party service providers as we deem necessary for the third party to fulfill its duties, such as fulfilling orders, processing credit card payments, or other functions necessary to our business. These third party service providers are not authorized to retain, share, store or use your personal information for any purposes other than to provide the services for which they have been hired to provide.
When you submit your personal information, you also agree that we may use your personal information to contact you by email about new features, to solicit your feedback, to keep you up to date with what’s going on with ContractorTools and our products. We do not sell, trade or otherwise share your personal information with any third parties.
We may use aggregate information to provide technical support for individual users, to improve the Server, App and Services, to monitor traffic and general usage patterns, and for other general business purposes. We may disclose aggregate information to third parties for a variety of business reasons, including to potential investors so that they may better understand our user base, etc. Aggregate information will not include any personal information, and we will not disclose any personal information.
In addition to the foregoing, ContractorTools may elect to share or transfer your personal information to unrelated third parties (i) to comply with a legal requirement, judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on ContractorTools, (ii) to investigate a possible crime, such as fraud or identity theft; (iii) in connection with the sale, purchase, merger, reorganization, liquidation or dissolution of ContractorTools; (iv) when we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of ContractorTools or other persons, or (v) as otherwise required or ermitted by law.
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.
We restrict access to personal information to ContractorTools employees, service providers and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve the Server, App or Services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations. We use secure socket layer (“SSL”) technology to encrypt and protect the security of your personal information, including but not limited to your credit card number, when it is sent over the Internet. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Transmitting personal information is done at your own risk.
Please do your part to help us. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to emails between you and ContractorTools, at all times.
ContractorTools processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Policy. We review our data collection, storage and processing practices to ensure that we only collect, store and process the personal information needed to provide or improve the Services. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we process is accurate, complete and current, but we depend on our users to update or correct their personal information whenever necessary.
Our App and Server are not directed to children, and we will not request personally identifiable information from anyone who we know to be under the age of 18, unless we have obtained verifiable parental consent from a parent or legal guardian. If we become aware that a user under the age of 13 has registered with our App, provided personal information, and ContractorTools has not obtained prior verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian, we will immediately remove the user’s personal information from our files. IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 13 YEARS OF AGE, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE OR ACCESS THE SERVICES AT ANY TIME OR IN ANY MANNER.
In the event that ContractorTools becomes involved in a merger or acquisition or sells substantially all of its assets or one of ContractorTools’s business units is acquired, your personal information and aggregate information will most likely be one of the assets transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such a transfer may occur and that any such third party or its assets may continue to use your personal information or the aggregate information as set forth in this Policy. In the negotiation of any potential merger, acquisition, or sale of ContractorTools, we may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information. Such information does not identify you individually. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors’ rights generally, we may not be able to control how your personal information is treated, transferred or used.
We may change this Policy at any time and without prior notice by posting the revised version of this Policy on the Server or App. Your continued use of the Server, App or Services indicates your consent to our collection of and use of your personal and aggregate information under the then current Policy.
If your name, e-mail or mailing address, telephone number or other personal information changes, you may update, correct or omit the relevant information by contacting us, provided that such information may only be omitted if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law, or for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes).
If you prefer not to receive newsletters or other e-mails from ContractorTools, please let us know by clicking on the unsubscribe link within any newsletter or marketing e-mail you receive or contacting us, as applicable. Please note that any service-related emails generally do not offer an option to unsubscribe as they are necessary to provide the service you requested.
